Looking After Your Basket

Care Guide

Your Lullaby Nest basket is made from 100% natural cotton and will last for years with the right care. Follow these simple guidelines to keep it looking and feeling beautiful.

Washing Your Basket

  • Hand wash your moses basket in cool water (30°C or below) using a mild, baby-safe detergent.

  • Alternatively, you may machine wash on a delicate/gentle cycle at 30°C. Place the basket inside a large mesh laundry bag to protect the weave.

  • Do not use bleach or fabric softener, as these can weaken the natural cotton fibres.

  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent residue.

Drying

  • Always lay your basket flat to dry on a clean, dry surface. Do not hang, as this can distort the shape.

  • Allow to dry fully in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

  • Do not tumble dry — heat will shrink and damage the natural cotton.

  • Ensure the basket is completely dry before use to prevent any moisture build-up.

The Mattress & Liner

  • The removable cotton mattress cover can be machine washed at 40°C.

  • The foam mattress insert should be spot-cleaned only with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not submerge in water.

  • Allow the mattress to air dry fully before replacing the cover.

Storage

  • When not in use, store your basket in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • Avoid storing in plastic bags — natural cotton needs to breathe.

  • A cotton storage bag or pillowcase is ideal for long-term storage.

General Care Tips

  • Avoid placing the basket in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can cause the natural cotton to fade.

  • If the basket loses its shape slightly after washing, gently reshape it by hand while still damp.

  • With proper care, your Lullaby Nest basket will remain beautiful for years to come — and may even be passed down to the next little one.

Safety Reminder

  • Always use the basket on a firm, flat surface.

  • Never leave your baby unattended in the basket.

  • The basket is suitable for newborns up to approximately 9kg or when your baby can push up on their hands and knees.

  • Always use a firm, flat mattress that fits snugly with no gaps around the edges.
